One-of-a-kind collection of three items, highlighted by a Scotch reel-to-reel audio tape of a Garland performance from her 1951-1952 Palace Theater Show Tour, from the estate of singer, dancer, and make-up artist Ricky Riccardi. Also included is a Dunhill Rollalite lighter given to Riccardi by Garland, engraved on the top, "Ricky, Love Judy, Palace 1951." Additionally included are two programs, one listing Riccardi as one of the performers in Judy's show and signed by him and the other back-up performers; the other program includes an image of him dancing with her during a show. In overall fine condition, with the cover of the signed program missing. Garland's performances at the Palace were triumphant and received rave reviews—her show lasted for nineteen weeks, breaking all box office records. After her NYC finale on February 24, 1952, Judy went to California to play a four-week engagement at the Los Angeles Philharmonic and, lastly, San Francisco's Curran Theater from May 26, though June 22, 1952. Based on the tracks this original reel-to-reel tape contains (which includes favorites Get Happy and Over the Rainbow), this was more than likely recorded at the Curran, during an unidentified night of her brief run—a potentially unique offering. Her final night in San Francisco was documented on the 1993 CD Judy Garland in Concert: The Beginning and the End, now out of print. Accompanied by a CD transfer of the tape's complete 54 minute recording. A remarkable assemblage from this historic period of Garland's career.
