Judy Garland contract signed for ''A Star Is Born,'' for which she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress. Dated 22 December 1954, contract rider between Garland and MCA Artists regards commissions in connection with the motion picture. In part: ''You hereby waive commissions computed upon the gross monies or other considerations I may receive in connection with the existing motion picture ''A STAR IS BORN''...In consideration of your agreements herein contained, I agree to pay you a sum equal to ten percent (10%) of the gross monies or other consideration as and when received by me...You hereby waive commissions on all phonograph records heretofore made by me pursuant to this or any other agreement entered into concurrently herewith.'' Signed at the conclusion of the second page by Garland, and initialed by her at the bottom of the first page. Two page contract, with first page measuring 8.5'' x 11'' and the second page originally clipped from the first page, measuring 8.5'' x 5''. In near fine condition, with two staple holes to left edge of both sheets and diamond-shaped hole to the bottom left edge of the first page of document.
