Des selfs Josephi leuen (...) [trsl. from the Latin Nicolaas van Winghe].  Antwerp, Simon Cock, 18 May 1552, 2 works in 1 vol., folio, mod. brown pigskin over wood, spine on 5 raised bands with gilt title, sp. edges, decorative endpapers, flylvs. defective in inner margin, older flylvs. preserved, [2]-ccxviij, [118] ff., (somewhat short, browning and soiled, 1st and last ff. remargined, old repairs).  Good copy.  Cfr. ill. € 4000/5000 First editions of the Dutch translation by Nicolaas van Winghe (d. 1552), who translated the "Vulgata" of the works of the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus.  Both works were dedicated to the city of Antwerp.  The "Seuen boecken" also contain a printer's prologue.  Titles within elaborate woodcut border (old colouring) with arms of Antwerp.
