Merchant (1713–1780) and first unofficial Spanish observer of the Continental Congress during the Revolution; friend of George Washington, John Jay, and many other Congressional delegates. Rare ink signature, “Juan DeMiralles,” with an elaborate paraph, on an off-white 5.5 x 1.5 slip clipped from the closing of a letter. In fine condition, with two vertical folds slightly touching the beginning and end of signature.
