Journey Back To Oz Original Animation Cels & Drawings
Journey Back To Oz Original Animation Cels & Drawings - Journey Back To Oz" was the 1974 animated feature sequel to the original 1939 "Wizard of Oz", with the special distinction of having Liza Minnelli (Judy Garland's Oscar-winning daughter) do the voice of Dorothy, as well as bringing back the original Wicked Witch, Margaret Hamilton (but this time as Aunt Em!). it was the most expensive and elaborate Filmation production, and took almost four years to create. This is a large original production hand painted cels and background from this all-star classic. It shows Dorothy talking to "The Signpost" (Jack E. Leonard), as she finds herself in a fork in the Yellow Brick Road, with Toto looking on. It also includes the original matching production animator detail drawings of Dorothy, Toto, and the Signpost. There are four overlaying cels, the first of Toto, the second of Dorothy, the third of the Signpost's head, and the fourth of his body. These are all set in front of the original production background art. The second set also has the original production animator's drawings of Dorothy, Toto and Pumpkinhead (Paul Lynde). Along with the original drawings are three of the original production overlaid hand-painted cels, the first of Toto, the second of Dorothy and the third of Pumpkinhead, as well as the original background art. The top-layer cel also has the official Filmation stamp. The production artwork and cels are drawn on original production registration keyed paper and acetate cels, and includes scene numbers, along with special animator notations. The "Signpost" color production cels and background are approx 17"x11.5" and the matching drawings are approx 12.5"x10.5". The "Pumpkinhead" drawings and cels are approx 12.5"x10.5".
