The rear of the breechblock is marked with the two-line 1861 and 1862 patent dates and the matching serial number is located on the top of the breechblock and on the upper tang. The heel of the buttplate is marked "US". Mounted with a one-piece straight grip stock with a boxed "BH" cartouche on the left side above the ring bar.

Fine. The barrel retains 75% faded original finish with some thinning at the muzzle and overall scattered light spotting. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth mottled gray patina with some minor pitting on the buttplate and strong original case colors on the buttplate tang. The stock has been revarnished and remains very good with a clear cartouche. The upper and lower flat edges remain sharp and there are a few scattered small dents and dings. The markings remain clear. Mechanically excellent.
