The storm was furious, & it took us all day to reach Stoneman's Station. I had a cordial welcome, & begin to feel better already. The Col. insists on your coming & staying some time. A good many officer's wives are here I believe. So I want you to come as soon as you can with Dr. Monroe perhapsor with Mr. French. You will have to have a Provost Marshal's pass; or, rather, one from Col. ConradMrs. Harris will know. Get me a little glass with a cover, if you have time. You will not need to change your lodging if you are to come directly here. Get your trunk stored somewhere. We shall look for you Wednesday. If you do have any time, pray get one a pair of camp candlesticksthere are some very convenient kinds, which screw together & form a neat little pocket-case which one can put in a haversack & carry without breaking. I want you to come prepared to stay a while. Though you can send up by Mr. Hayes any time. We shall see you & Mrs. H. & Mrs. F. Wednesday?"
