Noted African-American blues guitarist and singer (1914–1969). His political activism in the 1940s resulted in his being blacklisted, which in turn led to his still-controversial testimony before the notorious House Un-American Activities Committee. Program for the Cafe Society, 5.5 x 8.5, 13 pages, signed and inscribed on the first page, “To Buddy, Take it easy but take it, Josh White.” In very good condition, with scattered creases and soiling, slight separation to the top of the cover, and parts of the signature and inscription a shade light.
