<B>Joseph Stalin Document Signed </B></I> <I> "I. Stalin," </B></I> (In Russian). Seven pages, 9.75" x 14", The Kremlin, Moscow, March 22nd, 1943. Joseph Stalin was the Premiere of the Soviet Union from 1941 until his death in 1953 and General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1922-1953. Stalin took on this role after the death of Lenin and after eliminating his political rivals. This personalized printed document signed "I. Stalin" in blue ink. Enclosed in hard off-white folder with gilded bas-relief of the hammer and sickle of the Communist party, and impressed gold lettering "To a Winner of the Stalin Prize, third degree". The certificate has 7 pages showing embossed Soviet state emblem of pre-1948 type - with 11 republics in the Soviet Union. Stalin's portrait is featured on the fourth page, opposite the text page listing each of the 11 recipients of that year's Stalin Prize. On the sixth page is a Citation from the Sovnarkom (Council of People's Commissars), followed by the printed line saying that this particular diploma was issued to Julian Xenophonemov [?]. On the same page (page 6) Joseph Stalin signs his name as, the Chairman of Sovnarkom, as does Chadaev, Chief Supervisor for the Affairs of Sovnarkom. <BR> The document is in fine condition; some pages are separating from the binding; covers are soiled.
