Joseph Phillips, Brampton (c. 1809-1870) A SECOND QUARTER 19TH-CENTURY OAK AND MAHOGANY-CASED 30-HOUR LONG-CASE CLOCK, the mahogany hood having a swan-neck pediment with brass disc terminals flanking a ball and eagle finial, the arched hood door between turned columns with brass capitals, the arched mahogany-crossbanded trunk door on a similarly crossbanded base, the movement, striking the hours on one bell, having a white painted arched dial with inscribed makers name, Roman numerals and flower- painted spandrels, the arch painted with a chinoiseries scene of a man in a boat, with perching and flying exotic birds, 226cm, (89in) high (sold with Est. £400/600
