Artist and author (1857–1926) who specialized in etchings and lithographs. ALS, one page, 9 x 13.25, August 23, 1883. Letter to an unidentified gentleman. In full: “Some time ago I sent you from Venice some drawings of Child Life in that place—did you get them—and if so and they are all right I should like to do some more—important ones—when I come home this fall—Shall return here in the Spring.” Pennell has highlighted the letter with two small ink sketches; one of a child added over a portion of text, and one of a young boy’s face next to his signature. Framed to an overall size of 10.25 x 14. In fine condition, with central horizontal and vertical folds, a green pencil mark to a single word of text, and some creasing to edges.
