German violinist and composer (1831–1907) ranked second only to Paganini among nineteenth-century virtuosi. He was a close associate of Johannes Brahms, who wrote a number of works (including the Violin Concerto) specifically with Joachim’s talents in mind. AMQS on an off-white 4.5 x 7 sheet. Joachim pens two bars from Bach's “Largo Ma Non Tanto,“ signing underneath, “Joseph Joachim, London, 7th of April 1884.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered trivial foxing. RRAuction COA.
