Joseph Hauber (Geratsried /Immenststadt 1766-1834 Munich) The Raising of Lazarus, signed and dated at right margin Hauber fecit 1810, pen and brown ink, brush and grey and brown wash, on paper, 31.1 x 39.1 cm, unmounted, an approx. 4 cm tear at upper margin, a central tear due to the quality of the material, a small hole at upper left, otherwise in original condition, (GL). Joseph Hauber made numerous altar pieces for Bavarian churches, e.g., a Last Supper for the Church of the Capucins in Schärding and two paintings for the side altars in the Church of the Holy Spirit in Munich. Moreover, he was much sought after as a portraitist of the Munich Court and the high society; one of his works is preserved in the Alte Pinakothek in Munich. EURO 400 450 US $ 390 440
