Top-ranking Nazi (1897–1945) who, as Minister of Propaganda, was one of Hitler’s most powerful and influential underlings. After serving a single day as Chancellor following Hitler’s death, Goebbels poisoned his children and then committed suicide with his wife, Magda. Ink signature, “Dr. Goebbels,” on an off-white 5.25 x 2.25 slip which is inscribed in type to “Pg. R. Walter Darré in kämpferischer Verbundenheit” (“in aggressive Solidarity”). “Pg.” was the abbreviation for Parteigenosse, [Nazi] Party comrade. Signature is tipped in to the first page of an original printing of Goebbel’s historic speech, “Nun, Volk, steh auf und Sturm brich los!” (“Now, Nation, arise and let the Storm break loose!”) which has become known as his “Total War” speech softcover, 32 pages, 5.75 x 8. In fine condition, with a central vertical fold next to signature, and a bit of light toning. Booklet bears lightly toned pages and two sets of punch holes.
