French cardinal (1763–1839), closely associated with the family of Napoleon Bonaparte. Manuscript DS (true copy), in French, signed “J. Card Fesch,” one page, 7.5 x 12.5, October 20, 1806. A true copy of a document issued by Napoleon. In part (translated): “We…decree as follows: Cardinal Maury is named Cardinal Chaplain to our brother Prince Jerome. Signed Napoleon.” Signed at the bottom, “Certified true copy J. Card. Fesch.” Intersecting folds, some stray ink marks, and some light toning and wrinkling, otherwise fine condition.
