Older brother of Napoleon (1868–1844) who served as King of Spain from 1808 to 1813, and King of Naples from 1806 to 1808. LS in French, signed “Joseph,” one page, 7.5 x 9, Naples, July 30, 1806. Letter to a general. In part (translated): “The expressions of your interest in me…on the occasion of my ascension to the throne of Naples were most agreeable.” In fine condition, with central vertical and horizontal folds, and mild scattered creases, toning, and soiling.
