Supremely important naturalist (1743-1820), best remembered for his expedition to Newfoundland and Labrador, his participation in James Cook's first great voyage, and his role as President of the Royal Society for over four decades. ALS signed “Jos. Banks,” one page, 7.25 x 9, May 29, 1818. In part: "Sincerely wishing you all the pleasure & advantage that Paris can afford to you." In very good to fine condition, with old wax seal stains and multiple intersecting folds.
