TLS, one page, 8.5 x 11, Bank of Italy letterhead, July 25, 1929. Von Sternberg writes the Hollywood Branch of the Bank of Italy. In full: “This will authorize M. L. Cashy, of your Bond Department, to have access to my box in joint custody with an officer of your bank, during my stay in Europe. Coupons and dividends received to be credited to my savings account and duplicate deposit slips retained by your to be accounted for upon my return.” A horizontal fold crossing his name, a few wrinkles, and very light toning and staining, otherwise fine condition.
