Bio: José Garcia Ocejo, Veracruz painter who maintains wide international recognition, the result of over half a century of creativity in the world of art, is subject of a glowing tribute by the State Government, through the Cultural Institute of Veracruz, in the Main House Cultural Center on Saturday, 19 to 20 hours, this year celebrating eight decades of existence.

Ocejo Garcia was born on 14 June 1928 in the city of Cordoba, Veracruz. He joined the faculty of Architecture of the UNAM, leaving unfinished his studies to dedicate himself to painting, led by Diego Rivera. In 1953 he won a scholarship to study in Madrid and a little later he moved to the city of Salzburg, Austria, where he studied under Oskar Kokochka having obtained diploma of honor and distinction of the Museum of the City to purchase two prints.His artistic career is dizzying, and their works traveling through Spain, Japan, USA, Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Israel, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, France, Canada, Poland, Germany, South America, among others. And in Mexico, there are countless galleries where he has displayed over more than fifty years.
