Study Art in National Fine Arts School of San Carlos in Mexico City.
In 1928, he led a movement to promote Diego Rivera as director of the Academy of San Carlos. George was part of the Second Generation of the Mexican School of Painting. He was a member of the Seminary of Mexican Culture, Arts Academy, a member of the Committee to Protect the Murals of Mexico's National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA), and president of the Mexican Association of Plastic Arts AMAPAC. Throughout his career González Camarena earned many awards including Jose Clemente Orozco Badge awarded by the State Congress of Jalisco en1956, Second Prize in the Annual Salon of Painting INBA sponsored by the National Institute of Fine Arts in 1962 , Gold Plaque of the Government of Jalisco in 1964, "L'Ordine of Merit of the Italian Republic" by the government of Italy, to paint a portrait of Michelangelo that was placed on the Italian artist's house in 1967 and the National Arts Prize in the field of painting in 1970.

The artist's works have been featured in numerous exhibitions at the National Museum of Art at the Palacio de Bellas Artes. In the city of Mexico and the Mexican Contemporary Art Exhibition sponsored by the Foreign Secretary and OPIC in Bordeaux, Paris, Lille, Lyon and Toulouse, France in 1958. The artist participated in several exhibitions at the Nation al Museum of Modern Art (Fine Arts Palace.) In 1959, 1962 and 1972. Twenty-five Years of the Salon de la Plastica Mexicana, Tribute to the Founding Members in 1974 Retrospective Exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in Chapultepec and Malintzincally Gallery in Mexico City. González Camarena's murals are part of public collections as the Library of the Technological Institute of Monterrey, Mexico (The historian Sahagun.), The main building of the Mexican Social Security Institute in Mexico City (Mural Painting.), Universidad de Concepcion, Chile (Latin American Integration), National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City (Races and culture), Palace of Fine Arts (Liberation), building the Mexican Senate (The two revolutions), The Bank Mexico, in Veracruz, the Museum of Modern Art and National History Museum, Chapultepec Castle in Mexico City.
