Robinson, 1797), first edition, 596 pages, gilt edges on top, vellum endpapers, tan-and-brown-leather binding with gold lettering, 8vo (8.25" x 5.25"). Prior to being ordained Vicar of Epsom, County Surrey, England, Jonathan Boucher (1738-1804) was private tutor to John Parke Custis, stepson of George Washington, in Virginia. This volume, which consists of 13 lectures given by Boucher between 1763 and 1775, is dedicated to Washington.
