Dated 1954, the certificate enrolls a Norman Schwab in the first national polio vaccine trial and reads in part, ''The National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis certifies that Norman Schwab has been enrolled as a Polio Pioneer...for taking part in the first national tests of a trial polio vaccine...'' Verso includes the patient's school and reads, ''Attested in Bowling Green, Nassau, N.Y.'' Card measures 4.5'' x 2.75'' and is in near fine condition.
