Developed in the late 1930s, the 1941 competed against the M1 Garand for US military contracts, and found buyers with the Dutch and the USMC, which issued them to the "Marine Raider and Parachute Battalions" for the early Makin Island, Guadalcanal and Tulagi Island hopping campaigns in the Pacific. Blade front and adjustable peep rear sights, with a set of three holes drilled and tapped into the top of the receiver through the standard markings, ".30-06/ 41" marked on the barrel flange, and the Cranston Arms markings on the right rear of the receiver. Smooth two piece stock with sling swivels and a checkered buttplate numbered "1201"

Condition: Very good as refurbished and modified, with 70% of the original parkerized finish, showing areas of mixed brown patina, dark spots, and some pitting. There are three additional holes drilled into the top of the receiver which are filled with filler screws. Stock is revarnished, with mild dents. Mechanically excellent.
