Johnson Automatics Model 1941 Semi-Automatic Rifle

Developed in the late 1930s, the 1941 competed against the M1 Garand for US military contracts. The USMC issued some to the "Marine Raider and Parachute Battalions" in early WWII for the Island campaigns in the Pacific. Blade front and adjustable 1,000 meter rear sight, with ".30-06/41" marked on the barrel flange, five line model and five line patent markings on top of the receiver, and a five-pointed star over "CRANSTON/ARMS/CO." in a triangle on the right side behind the rear sight. Fitted with a checkered two-piece pistol grip stock, and a checkered buttplate.
