Adorable original hand-painted mixed-media artwork of a mother hen with four chicks, watercolor and appliquéd pink-and-white fabric on an off-white 11.75 x 15.75 sheet of artist’s cardstock, signed in the lower right by the artist, “Patty Carter.” Framed to an overall size of 12.5 x 16.5. In fine condition. This was originally given to the Kennedy family upon the birth of John F. Kennedy, Jr., on November 25, 1960, just two weeks after Kennedy won the 1960 presidential election. Overwhelmed with presents, this is one of the many baby gifts Jacqueline Kennedy gave to her personal secretary, Mary Barelli Gallagher.
