Desirable 9 x 9 swatch of Beta cloth featuring the Apollo 16 mission emblem from the collection of John Young, believed to have been flown on the mission, later signed in black felt tip, "Charlie Duke, Apollo 16 LMP," and numbered "6." In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Artifact Cloud, and a copy of a letter of provenance from Susy Young, wife of the late John Young, certifying that the original "sealed package of Apollo 16 Beta Cloth mission emblems…was among the few flown items that John had saved from the Apollo 16 mission. Although not specifically noted on the package, it was stored with his flown Apollo 16 items and I believe that it was flown." The Artifact Cloud certificate elaborates: "We obtained the entire sealed package of 25 beta cloth patches and Mr. Duke has numbered them #1 thru #25. Although Mr. Duke cannot attest the flown status he confirmed to us that the original sealed package looked similar to his flown Apollo 16 patch packages."
