John Wayne Horse Soldiers Cavalry Cape
Blue cavalry cape worn by Golden Age superstar John Wayne, most famous for his iconic Western films. Includes a Western Costume Company label with Wayne's name handwritten as "J. Wayne" on the inner pocket. Sourced directly from WCC and believed to be worn in the movie Horse Soldiers. Wayne, born Marion Robert Morrison in 1907, rose to fame in the 1930s with John Ford's classic Stagecoach (1939), having already appeared in scores of B Western films and serials. Other films featuring his distinctive swagger and voice include Back To Bataan (1945), Fort Apache (1948), Rio Grande (1950) and The Alamo (1960). Wayne himself directed the last. In the 1970s Wayne diversified his resume by appearing in the modern-dress cop dramas McQ (1974) and Brannigan (1975). Wayne remains perhaps the most famous and dearly loved figures of Hollywood's Classic Era.
