John W. Young - Son of Brigham Young - Utah Western Railway Company (Utah Territory) A 1889 dated $1
John W. Young - Son of Brigham Young - Utah Western Railway Company (Utah Territory) A 1889 dated $1000 bond bearing 6% interest in black and green from Utah Territory. It is signed as President of the company by John W. Young, son of Brigham Young and Mary Ann Angell. John W. Young served as a member of the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints prior to his father's death. He also served as a counselor to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. He was better known, however, for his business enterprises, primarily railroad construction. He was involved in several railroad companies or railroad construction projects during the latter half of the 19th century in Utah and throughout the West. There are two pages of attached coupons. Some damp staining at right. A rare Western territorial signed by an important figure in the Mormon Church and the Western railroad business. Extremely Fine. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
