<B>John W. Davis: The Legendary Clarksburg, West Virginia Button Variety.</B></I> Among presidential candidates for whom pinbacks were issued, Davis is by far the toughest candidate, and this large 2 1/8" variety is considered one of the best. The present example has an excellent appearance, but a brass rope frame has been added to cover fairly light rim staining which extends most of the way around the button's circumference. With the addition of the brass rim, only a few hints of the foxing are visible in a couple of places. Please see our website for an image of the button without its brass frame.
