Scalloped-top vellum partly printed DS, signed as president, “J. Tyler,” one page, 13 x 15, July 28, 1845. Ship’s pass issued to “the Ship Canton, George Faber master and commander…mounted with no guns navigated with twenty two men.” Signed at the conclusion by Tyler, and countersigned by Secretary of State John C. Calhoun. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, a uniform shade of mild toning, scattered light creasing and wrinkling, and a small stain to top left corner. The embossed white seal is intact with a vertical crease to left side.
