Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17 x 14, March 17, 1842. President Tyler appoints David V. Culley, “Register of the Land Office for the District of Lands subject to sale at Indianapolis in the State of Indiana.” Signed at the conclusion by Tyler and countersigned by Secretary of the Treasury Walter Forward. In very good condition, with scattered creases, curling to vertical edges, light toning and soiling, and a few stray ink marks. Tyler presidential appointments are rather uncommon.
