Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 17 x 14, March 17, 1842. President Tyler appoints David V. Culley as “Paymaster of the Land Office for the District of Lands subject to sale at Indianapolis in the State of Indiana.” Boldly signed at the conclusion by Tyler and countersigned by Secretary of the Treasury Walter Forward. Document bears an embossed seal to the lower left. In very good condition, with scattered creases and toning, a few slight tape-repaired edge tears, and a small area of paper loss to the upper right corner tip.
