John Tyler pardon signed as President dated 10 October 1843. Very clear, bold and full signature, “John Tyler” at the bottom of document. Tyler pardons a former postmaster who was found guilty of violating Post Office laws and sentenced to 10 years in prison. The 9” x 13” document bears a cream-colored Presidential seal and is displayed in a 14” x 22” double-matted frame. Document has intersecting folds, one that passes through Tyler’s signature at the bottom. Light soiling and a small vertical tear, otherwise very good condition.
