John Tyler CDV taken circa 1860-61 by Mathew Brady. Tyler was the tenth President, from 1841-45, and the first Vice President to become President because of the death of his predecessor. He campaigned successfully during his time in office for annexation of the Republic of Texas. ''E. & H.T. Anthony, 501 Broadway, New York. / From Photographic Negative in Brady's National Portrait Gallery'' is stamped on the verso of the CDV. Very good condition.
