Legendary superstar John Travolta has been idolized by artist Steve Kaufman in this large, dynamic limited edition print. Mr. Travolta authorized the edition of this print, and even signed it. Images of Travolta from several movies are seen, along with the movie titles, are done in black on a multi hued background. At the center is "White Man's Burden." On the right side of the piece is "Pulp Fiction," the film that revitalized his career. One the left is "Phenomenon," and the Drizzles of acrylic paint enhance the supernatural quality of his character. These hand embellishments also make each print unique and original. Biography: Steve Kaufman (1960-2010 ) was born in the Bronx, New York, and began his art career as a kid, painting faces on pet-rocks for Macy's department store. Later, he worked as an assistant to Andy Warhol in Warhol s factory. He eventually opened his own gallery, and hired many homeless and ex-gang members to work for him. Kaufman became known for his charity work, not just monetarily, but through personal visitation. He contributed an AIDS Memorial in New York City, and a Meals on Wheels mural on the walls of the legendary Spago Restaurant in Los Angeles. His artwork can be found today in a wide array of public and private institutions around the world, including The White House, and the Smithsonian Institution. He was commissioned to paint artist portraits by the estates of two of the greatest artists of all time, Van Gogh and Picasso. Kaufman is recognized around the world as one of the greatest Pop artists.
