<B>John T. Ford of “Ford's Theater” Signature</B></I> “<I>John T. Ford</B></I>”. 5” x 1.75”, excised from a letter and mounted in paper folder, dated October 6, 1858, in ink, very good. John T. Ford (1829-1894) will forever have his name associated with the theater in which Lincoln was assassinated. Ford had managed several theaters in the pre-Civil War period. After Lincoln's assassination Ford was imprisoned and held for several weeks before release.
