English tenor (1821–1900) who was the foremost vocalist of the mid-Victorian era. Original and early 4.25 x 6.5 cabinet photo by W. and A. H. Fry of Brighton, signed and inscribed in the lower border in black ink “Miss Harriett A Lowe, with kind regards, Sims Reeves 1875.” In fine condition, with light contrast to signature and inscription over printing in lower border, a few spots to image, and mounting remnants to reverse.
