Sherman also served as secretary of the treasury to President Hayes and secretary of state to President McKinley. Original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo by Brady of Washington, signed below the image in black ink, “John Sherman, Ohio.” A couple light spots to image and background, mild toning to lower border, and slight mounting remnants to reverse, otherwise fine condition.
