John Severin - Illustrated Letter and Envelope Original Art, Group of 2 (1941-42). John Severin was a fan of Western artist Charlie Russell's illustrated letters and these two illustrated missives, sent to Severin's pal, Collin Dawkins, show a distinct Russell influence. In fact, Severin mentions both Frederic Remington and Charles Russell in his July 6, 1942 letter. The envelope of one of these letters is illustrated with a Marine battle scene, while the other features a scene of the frontline of the Union Army. The envelopes measure an overall 7.5" x 4", while the tri-folded letters measure 7.5" x 10.5". These pieces average Very Good condition.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
