Fabled Confederate ranger (1833–1916) whose guerrilla band specialized in attacking and disrupting Union supply lines. He earned the nickname “The Gray Ghost” for his clandestine and highly effective attack tactics. Ink signature, “Very respectfully your obt Sevt., Jno S. Mosby,” on an off-white card. Matted with a full-length portrait of Mosby, to an overall size of 14 x 11. In fine condition, with a couple trivial spots and creases, not detracting from overall appearance. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
