Influential English art critic and writer (1819-1900) remembered as a champion of the work of J.M.W. Turner. ALS signed "JR," one page, 4.5 x 7, no date. Handwritten letter to art historian Charles Eliot Norton, in part: "Please remember that your engravings are on the fourth and fifth shelf from top of my large print cabinet at Oxford,—and Mr. Burgess has key of it, and charge of the books I cut up, for you." Affixed at the bottom is a clipped full signature, "John Ruskin." Includes a transmittal letter from Norton, January 12, 1893, in part: "I send your son a little more of Ruskins, and as it is signed with his initials only, I add a separate signature in full." In fine condition, with a small rusty paperclip impression to the top edge.
