John Ruskin Autograph Letter Signed "J. Ruskin". One page, 4.5" x 7", np, nd, to Mr. [Jasper Francis] Cropsey, an artist and friend. A neatly written letter declining an invitation, in part: "Thursday night is unfortunately one on which I attend regularly at the Working Men's College [London]...but I hope to call on Friday afternoon with your book...." Ruskin's range was vast. He wrote over 250 works which started from art history, but expanded to cover topics ranging over science, geology, ornithology, literary criticism, the environmental effects of pollution, and mythology. Very fine.
