<B>John Quincy Adams Manuscript Letter Signed as Secretary of State.</B></I> One page, 8" x 7", Washington, February 14, 1825, to Dutee J. Pearce, appointing him U.S. Attorney for Rhode Island. The letter is sent on behalf of the "<I>President and with the advice and consent of the Senate...</B></I>" Adams would become President about two weeks after writing this letter. Mail folds, with separations thereat.
