Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania (1725–1777) who also chaired the committee that wrote the Articles of Confederation. Manuscript DS, one page both sides, 8 x 12.75, December 6, 1768. Arbitration bond from William Starr to Daniel Sharpless in the amount of one hundred pounds, associated with "raising the Water in Ridley Creek by the erection of the said William Starr's Mill Dam and of Rendering Impassable a certain ford across the same creek commonly used by the said Daniel Sharpless." Signed at the conclusion by Morton. In very good to fine condition, with ink erosion affecting some text, but not Morton's signature, and professionally silked on both sides for reinforcement.
