Union general (1826–1906) regarded as one of the ablest Federal commanders in the Western Theater. Highly uncommon original 2.25 x 4 carte-de-visite photo by Barr and Young of Vicksburg, Missouri, signed below the image in black ink, “J. McArthur.” In fine condition, with a bit of trivial spotting to image. The first signed image of McArthur we have ever offered.
