Two original early concept art photographs for John Lennon's 1973 solo album Mind Games: an 8.5 x 8.5 collage featuring color paperstock images of a field-and-sky landscape, overlaid with a hand-cut image of Lennon (with profile view of Yoko Ono emerging from the top of his head), affixed to a 9.75 x 15 board, with Lennon's red chop mark stamp applied to lower right corner of the image; and an original vintage glossy 11 x 14 silver gelatin photograph of John Lennon in sunglasses, which formed the basis for the cover of the 45 RPM 'Mind Games' single, affixed to a larger piece of cardboard. Both backing boards bear small Sotheby's labels, circa 1990s. In overall fine condition. Although neither of these exact images were used for the various issues of the Mind Games album and single, they offer recognizable similarities to both. Lennon created the Mind Games album cover himself, as he discussed in a 1974 interview with Dennis Elsas: 'I handmade it, you know, I cut out little pictures. I enjoyed it. But I didn't really have time, you know.'
