Extremely rare vintage 1960s glossy 10 x 8 wire photo of a 16-year-old John Lennon performing with his group, the Quarrymen, at the St. Peter’s Church ‘Garden Fete’ on Church Road in Woolton, Liverpool, England, on July 6, 1957, perhaps one of the most historic dates in Beatles history. During the evening, Lennon’s bandmate, Ivan Vaughan, introduced him to his fellow classmate from the Liverpool Institute, 15-year-old Paul McCartney. Reverse bears a “Keystone Press Agency Limited” copyright stamp and a few affixed labels and captions. In good to very good condition, with heavy overall creasing and a tear to the right edge. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks.
