Maclen (Music) Ltd. business check, 7.75 x 3.5, filled out in another hand and signed in green felt tip, “John Lennon,” and in blue ballpoint, “Paul McCartney,” payable to John Lennon for £96,154.0.0, September 1, 1975. In fine condition, with a bank stamp to the center, trivial ding to top edge, and a few creases. Having split up in 1970, the world’s most popular song writing duo was rumored to be planning a collaboration in early 1975. The proposed visit was to take place in New Orleans, where McCartney was working on Wings’ Venus and Mars album. Lennon was still on his ‘lost weekend’ with May Pang. Unfortunately, Lennon had to postpone the trip and the reunion never took place. A fantastic post-breakup example from the legendary song writing duo.
