Pershing, here newly appointed to the Army's highest rank, writes, ''...I have received your...invitation for me to be present...on the occasion of the Memorial Drive in honor of the men who gave their lives in the World War...Please accept my real regret that I cannot accept...'' Single page letter is mounted to a 7'' x 9.75'' board. Minor chipping, else very good.
