<B>John Hay Autograph Letter Signed</B></I> "<I>John Hay</B></I>". Two pages, 4.5" x 5.25", dated January 3, 1872. In this letter John Hay (1838-1905) sends his regrets for not being able to attend a function. John Hay was an American statesman, assistant to Abraham Lincoln and the Secretary of State under William McKinley and Theodore Roosevelt. The letter is in fine condition with the usual fold creases.
